LEAD 2025
I am thrilled to announce my involvement in assisting with the organization of LEAD 2025. The NYS Association of Deans & Directors of Schools of Social Workers will host their annual Legislative Education and Advocacy Day (LEAD) on March 11, 2025. This event will bring social work students face-to-face with New York State elected officials at the State Capitol in Albany, NY, to advocate for crucial Assembly and Senate Bills.
LEAD 2025 comes at a pivotal moment when our profession's expertise and dedication are more vital than ever. It presents an exceptional opportunity for students and faculty to engage in meaningful discussions and forge connections that will have a lasting impact.
Key Highlights of LEAD 2025
Direct Engagement: Students will have the unique chance to speak directly with state legislators about critical social work issues.
Collaborative Advocacy: Participants will work alongside fellow students to strengthen their message and support one another in advocacy efforts.
Personal Impact: Students can share personal experiences and examples that underscore the importance of social work policies.

By participating in LEAD 2025, students will gain invaluable experience in legislative advocacy and contribute to shaping policies that affect vulnerable communities. As we prepare for this impactful day, I encourage all social work students to seize this opportunity to make their voices heard and contribute to meaningful policy discussions.
